PARKS

Lake Kegonsa and the surrounding area offer several parks and natural areas for visitors to explore. Here are a few of the top parks around Lake Kegonsa:

Lake Kegonsa State Park - is a 342-acre park located on the shores of Lake Kegonsa. The park offers camping, hiking, fishing, boating, swimming, and more.

Fish Camp County Park - Located on the east side of Lake Kegonsa, Fish Camp County Park offers a boat launch, fishing pier, and picnic areas with grills.

LaFollette County Park - Located on the eastern shore of Lake Kegonsa on the outlet of the Yahara River, just southeast of Lake Kegonsa State Park.  It can be reached from US Highway 51 by traveling east on County Highway B for 1.5 miles and turning north on Williams Drive.  At the north end of the park, shore fishing is available at the lock and dam and canoes can be launched below the lock and dam.  Farther south on Williams Drive, the park offers shaded picnic areas including picnic tables, restrooms, a play area, and a reservable shelter.

Lower Yahara River Trail - Construction of the portion of the Lower Yahara River Trial near Lake Kegonsa has begun. When completed this trail will run along the north shore of Lake Kegonsa and connect the communities of McFarland and Stoughton. The trail will offer scenic views of the lake and surrounding wetlands, as well as opportunities for hiking and biking. Click here for more information.
