FISH CAMP COUNTY PARK

FOLKS assists Dane County Parks with care and maintenance of Fish Camp County Park on Lake Kegonsa:

  • Maintains the three educational native plant gardens and picnic tables.

  • Continue renovating the historic 1937 buildings to provide a space for educational programs and events.

  • Support new installations of accessible kayak/canoe launches and piers.

  • Maintain rain drop sculpture and the surrounding native garden.

  • Install and maintain Wingspan Board

  • Install and maintain 10 wood duck houses.  6 along the Yahara river, 2 south of the boardwalk and 2 north of the boardwalk.

  • Install and maintain 2 Hi-Spy viewing scopes.

  • Assist with projects for the lower Yahara River Bike Trail from Fish Camp to Lake Kegonsa State Park.

A double scope with an ADA wheelchair accessible scope was installed on the accessible fishing pier and the single scope was installed on the boardwalk bump out facing Lake Kegonsa and can also be used to view the Osprey nest on the power line.
